Transmedia Installaions

Megan combines movement and multi-media to develop installations that explore the relationship between the physical and the virtual. She investigates this relationship by combining contemporary dance and 3D animation in a choreographic process that layers one over the other, re- working the human figure into new forms that both fascinate and horrify.

Interchange

In InterChange be transported to a world where the Bendigo Town Hall is not as it should be, only shards of the Town Hall are left and they populate the space like sentinels.  In this work the audience can experience their physicality differently through interacting with flying objects by reaching out and touching them. This work explores the intersection between humanity and technology in a virtual world where new forms of time, space and existance are possible.

Virtual Drag

VIRTUAL DRAG is a virtual reality encounter with 3d scans of drag queens & kings in fantasy environments by Alison Bennett, Megan Beckwith & Mark Payne Virtual Drag is super proud to be part of The 3D Additivist Cookbook, “a compendium of imaginative, provocative works from over 100 world-leading artists, activists and theorists”. Virtual Drag will be featured in the MELT Festival at the Brisbane Powerhouse January 2017. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body, Deakin Motion.Lab & Media Lab Melbourne.
